The entry way to Disney's California Adventure, Buena Vista Street consists of two portions, the Carthay Circle Plaza and Buena Vista Street itself. New entry gates for DCA are based on the streamlined modern façade of the Pan Pacific Auditorium, built in 1935.
Nineteen twenty-three Los Angeles, a bustling town at the height of its glory, drew Walt in with its elaborate movie houses and creative core.
It was just beginning to identify itself as the silver-screen city. Spirited hopefuls arrived from around the world to fulfill their California dreams —the same atmosphere that sent young Walt Disney’s career soaring.
Buena Vista Street lets guests step into that particular time in Los Angeles history and Walt’s early life. As you enter the Gateway Plaza, you'll see the focal point, the Carthay Circle Theater.
